Saif Ali Khan is back with his much anticipated upcoming release titled Chef. The trailer of the film has been unveiled and going by the looks of it, the film promises to be a heartwarming tale of a father, exploring and re-discovering his bond with his son.
The trailer begins with a video call between Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan) and his son (Svar Kamble). His son informs him that he’s performing in his school function for the first time and it’ll be great if Roshan could attend it. Despite being busy, Roshan takes out time to visit his son and ends up spending several amazing days, rekindling a new life in his relationship with his son.
Eventually, the reality dawns upon them that Roshan has to go back but his son doesn’t want him to. How Roshan, an established chef quits his job and starts his own food truck, in order to spend time with his son and win back a long lost romance forms the crux of the story. One of the lines in the trailer, “Kaam, kaam se pyaar, pyaar se kaam mein kahin pyaar toh reh hi gaya. Woh bhi karna hai, apni zindagi se, apne bete se…” aptly sums up the plot of the film.
The picturesque locales and catchy background score coupled with some fantastic dialogues and of course mouth watering food, makes Chef a film to watch out for. From the director of Airlift comes a film which has a completely different mood and feel. Raja Krishna Menon’s keen attention to detail in every frame deserves applauds.
Chef also stars popular south star Padma Priya as Roshan’s estranged beloved. The movie is an official adaptation of a 2014 Hollywood film by the same name, directed by Jon Favreau and it hits the theatres on October 6.
