Esha Gupta defends her semi-nude photoshoot; says “It’s better to be hated than forgotten” – You slut shamed Esha Gupta for posting topless pics? Now hear it from her! – Esha Gupta defends her semi-nude photoshoot; says
When Esha Gupta started posting a series of topless pics on Instagram, many felt she’s doing this for attention. They said she is crying desperate by playing these cheap tricks to make people take notice of her. In fact, some even slut-shamed her by judging her body through her semi-nude photos. While up till yesterday Esha had only blocked the comments section to avoid demeaning remarks on her body. The actress now opens up on how she’s actually dealing with the response surrounding her latest shoot.
In interaction with Miss Kyra, Esha argues why she feels she’s not crossed any line and why there is no wrong in embracing one’s body. She said, “In our country, women are eternally blamed. They are accused when a girl child is born; they are accused even when they are raped. So, somewhere I knew that I will also have to face a lot of heat. After all, it’s easiest for some faceless and redundant people to pull a celebrity down at the first opportunity. I’ve done shoots like this one when I was a model. I’ve gone topless and naked, too. No one ever asked me about that. And who are these people who have ‘issues’ with my pictures? It’s my body and it’s been shot aesthetically. There’s a thin line, which if you cross, you look vulgar. No one can say my pictures are vulgar. I got more love than hate, but it’s better to be hated than to be forgotten. And right now, I’m in my best shape. Although we knew where this could lead, we thought, ‘If not now, then when?”
Let’s not forget, Esha had slyly even hit back at the haters in her last Insta post (the butt naked pic) with a caption saying, “Life is too short, laugh it out” where in another post she had said, “Why stop now?” Well, going by Esha’s attitude, it’s very unlikely that she’ll ever bog down to the narrow mentality of the society or pull down her pics. Like she said, “It’s better to be hated than forgotten..” So, that way, she is very much here to stay!
